United World Week 2021 – Eastern and Southern Africa Zone

Closing meeting of the united world week 2021. It took place from the 1st to the 9th of May under the motto Dare to care.

Participants from different countries in our zone, such as Angola, Zambia, South Africa, Madagascar, Uganda, Rwanda, Kenya, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Swaziland and Burundi, in the same spirit of unity, carried out several initiatives in order to better take care of our mother earth (our planet) and the brothers and sisters (the human being). Various initiatives emerged, such as cleaning dirty spaces, planting trees, raising funds to help disadvantaged people, experiencing different phrases of the gospel daily, during the week, in order to contribute to a world of more love and peace.

On March 8, we got together on the zoom to share our intense week together. It was a very beautiful moment of listening attentively to the other and of strengthening bonds of fraternity. We were honored to also welcome Paola and Jerome, world leaders for Youth in the Focolare Movement and other young people from the Gen Center, who go to great lengths to serve us in the most diverse ways, from the center of the Work.

At the end of the United World Week, we feel replenished, with renewed strength to commit ourselves to continuous service to our brother. We understand that this is not the end, but the beginning of a new path.

We sincerely thank all the participants. Let’s keep that flame burning. Together we can! Dare to care! Let’s go!
